An Overview of the Region of Murcia:

The Region of Murcia is one of the autonomous community of Spain located in the south-east, situated between Andalusia and Valencian Community, on the Mediterranean coast. This autonomous community consists of a single province. The Destinations and communities along the Costa Calida in the region of Murcia: La Manga, Los Alcazares, San Pedro de Pinatar, Torre Pacheco, Cartagena (La Azohia) Isla Plana, the Port of Mazarron, Bolnuevo and Aquilas. Therefore, despite the fact that Murcia, is one of smaller regions of Spain and its capital is the 7th largest city in Spain. it has been said, that within its boundaries it has captured, the 'whole of Spain!' The region of Murcia should not be overlooked for some of the best investment and relocation destinations in Spain.

While inland the region is stocked with thousands of orchards, vineyards, producing many wines, such as Jumilla, Mula & Bullas, all named after the towns or cities they are from. There are many nature reserves, many castles and adequate splattering of old Spanish villages. The contrasting rugged mountains and lakes, the fertile plains and the wonderful beaches and coves of the Costa Calida make Murcia quite unique. This region has been the well-kept secret of generations of families from Madrid and other influential Cities in Spain, whose occupants were in search of an exclusive coastal region that would provide the Climate and beautiful relaxed, and Healthy environment that was not available to them in the big cities, all year round.

Murcia has been the paradise many Spaniards repeatedly flocked to at any given opportunity in the Summer months, however, it remained under the radar of tourist industry and has not been subject to the cruel urbanisation that established tourist destinations have suffered in neighboring Mediterranean coastal regions and their resorts. Very often, prior to the new multi-million Euro investment in the road infrastructure 2001-2006. many of this region's coastal areas were only stumbled upon by chance.

Murcia is still and will remain an authentic Spain, due to the strict policies, it has in place regarding the construction of new properties in the region and especially on its precious coastline.Townhall and some developers have learnt that such overdevelopment is wrong, and its visitors or settlers can rest assured that this respect for this landscape will remain and all can enjoy an unspoilt landscape and retain its identity fully. There are strong conservation laws already in place to protect this area for future generations. There is a rich cultural history, from prehistoric settlements, the Romans and its chequered past from several Northern African occupations, (the Moors.) Evidence of this history is available, with many preserved sites and artefacts to be found on your doorstep remaining. The special region has an array of Ancient Cathedrals, Amphitheatres and defence infrastructures, not forgetting the wonderful coastal and inland nature reserves, the mountain ranges, parks, the fabulous fiestas, the wonderful food, the fabulous scenery, the excellent beaches and warmth of the local people and a fabulous micro-climate, all go together to make this an exceptional region of Spain!
Stability of the region.

There is a new, post-crisis economy emerging in Murcia, and there are great signs of steady regeneration and investor confidence in the region; The builders are now on site completing some of the projects they had started and moving on to fulfil a refreshed demand for off-plan new build properties which are being tailored on individual request, not the masses. Property investors here are looking for the last of the lower end property prices and finding the new market value price for a property in this beautiful region well within their financial reach and are amazed at what is on offer and in great locations!
The average property price per 2 m in the region of Murcia is 1.16 Euros.
